    • Proxmox VE Setup

So, installing ProxmoxVE 6.3 is simple.

But what is actually the best way to do it?

If it is a single server, you just leave things default, and it installs LVM and away you go.

But what if you want to have 2 servers and use replication?

Well the screw that pooch right off the bat.

As far as I can tell, unless you do everything as ZFS, you cannot do shit.

Has anyone here done anythign with that?

I've reinstalled PVE four or five times no tinkering with things.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned elastic yet.

There's an open source version and a free version (more features).

I did not mention it intentionally.

Because it is too complex to use as a SEIM unless you already know a lot about it.

Elastic basic (free) is pretty simple. Open Source version requires a bit more knowledge and integration

Setting up Elastic to ingest some basic logs? Simple. Setting up a SEIM with Elastic? Not so much.

But one minutes it's workign fine then boom errors all over the place

This is not because Elastic is bad, it is because it is complex. Which is why it is a poor solution for people like @JasGot

Unless a person has the time to really learn elastic and how to do things well, it jsut turns into a mess.

      1. Keystone Pipeline XL Permit cancellation - Fact is, jobs were lost.

Temporary construction jobs will be, yes.

The KXL is the final part of the Keystone pipeline. The original pipeline itself was completed already and has been delivering crude for a couple years now.

KXL was halted prior to any real work being started by the Obama administration. Had Trump not decided to make his big oil friends richer and granted the permit, there would be nothing to even talk about. But he did, and now there are 3 years of pipeline work in place. Halting it now is just stupid. So who is getting richer now?

Even if your baseless claim about who is getting money is true, there are also public facts about how much philanthropic work is done by the two names you specifically called out. Can you say the same about Russ Girling, the CEO of TC Energy?

But all of that has nothing to do with the obviously unthoughtout rant you posted.

I looked at Arctic Wolf in 2019. Was interesting, but not something the client ended up going towards. They did not feel the spend was worth it.

But I thought it was a good solution at a decent price.

      Interesting Development:

      https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/01/centos-is-gone-but-rhel-is-now-free-for-up-to-16-production-servers/

See that should've been an initial statement from RHEL.

"We're ending the CentOS line, but are offering 16 production servers for free as a part of this change"

The way this was handled was still horribly performed and has likely killed the RHEL userbase off from trusting anything from RHEL/IBM.

16 servers? What good is that though? Just use Oracle and you have no limit. No matter how you slice it IBM has ruined Red Hat as most people predicted.

For most SMB, that use CentOS in house, it is likely more than enough.

I have a client with 6 internal Linux systems, Proxy server, Nextcloud, Salt master (testing still, need ot get back to that), file server, jump box, and Email relay. If you add their phone system hosted on Vultr, then they have 7.

Irregardless of which President was the cause for the proceedings, you have a severe lack of understanding of what the process actually is.

For you and @DustinB3403, kindly help each other with the application of some:

Impeachment was already addressed. Get your damn head out of the sand.

The only thing being discussed was impeachment and your lack of understanding of what the process is.
