Making some VM templates for KVM lab.
Music educator who has completed his transition into IT. I want to know all t3h thingz. Alas, one lifetime isn't long enough to learn everything, so I'll settle for what can be shoved into my brain during this life time.

RE: How did you learn?
How did you learn Power-shell scripting?
any books worth looking at? Looking at expanding some more, and I know Automation makes jobs way easier.
This (https://channel9.msdn.com/Series/GetStartedPowerShell3/01) combined with doing tasks in PowerShell. In my opinion, as others have states, it's easier to learn via doing tasks. Added bonus is you complete a task with PowerShell or script it, then see if / how you can improve your script.
RE: Writing a Job Posting
I'll do it along with my current job for $37 an hour. You don't need to pay health insurance then.
Did you miss the in St Louis requirement?
Pitt to St Louis, easy commute once every two weeks.
I might need to crunch numbers about Atlanta to St. Louis
RE: Using GNU\Linux on your workstation is rubbish
Not quite sure what to say, but I'll respond to what seems to make sense to me.
From a "what workstation OS do I choose for my business?" perspective, I'd say that's largely going to driven by applications you need to us. If you live and die by desktop Adobe products, then a Linux distro isn't for you. If you're mostly using web apps, then OS really doesn't matter.
As far as peripherals and a Linux distro, I've had only minor pain with printing (one day, I need to take the time and understand CUPS more). I can say that printing pain isn't isolated to a non-Windows OS. Where I work is a Microsoft shop with Citrix XenApp, and printing is annoying at best. My personal laptop is a System76 machine running Fedora, and the only hardware issues it's had were not Linux-related (power plug issue, and a display cable that went bad).
RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
I don't think you can, but there are many smarter people around that may have worked out how.
It's surprisingly easy. Download the Windows 10 Media Creation tool and it walks you through the process.
Yep. If I have the option, I just sit at my desk at the office without going onsite. There is an extended period of waiting for it to reconnect to the RMM, but that time gets used to work on other tickets.
We've had reboots take nearly four hours! MS has confirmed this to be normal and unpredictable.
Yeah. They should drop the 1d4+1 feature for reboot length.
